Command conquer

Command & Conquer Generals - Zero Hour

hough it wasn't the first game of its type, Command & Conquer became synonymous with real-time strategy gaming when the very first game in the series was released in 1995. Along with Blizzard's Warcraft II, Command & Conquer helped build the foundation for one of PC gaming's most beloved genres, defining many of the real-time strategy conventions that are used today. And though Command & Conquer has seen its highs and lows over the years, the series' quirky, politically incorrect, comic-book-like take on modern warfare has remained intact all throughout, and it is upheld in the latest entry in the series, Command & Conquer: Generals. More importantly, Generals is easily one of the best Command & Conquer games yet, with the impressive visuals and highly refined and accessible gameplay that have come to characterize the best entries in this genre. Die-hard fans of Command & Conquer may lament a few of the departures Generals makes from the series' roots, and the game does have a few rough edges, but Generals is still one of the best real-time strategy games around.

Vietcong 2

Vietcong 2 shifts gears from the actual jungle to the urban jungle, as the story this time centers around the brutal fighting in and around the city of Hue in the days leading up to and after the infamous Tet Offensive of 1968. The sequel actually boasts two campaigns, and this time you can play from either the perspective of a US officer or a Vietcong guerilla. Though in truth, the VC campaign is all but a vignette, as it's a fraction of the length of the US campaign. In addition to the campaigns, you still retain the ability to play any completed single-player mission in quick play against a host of enemies, and there's also a full-fledged, if rudimentary, multiplayer suite at your disposal.
The meat of the game is in the single-player campaign. And in the US storyline, you are Captain Daniel Boone of the United States Army, who's assigned to MACV (aka the Military Assistance Command, Vietnam). Like in a gritty Vietnam War movie, Vietcong 2 tries to immerse you in the atmosphere of the war, so you actually start the game in a brothel before you travel to headquarters to get your first assignment. Nothing unseemly is seen or happens, as this sequence is mainly for you to chat with your fellow officers and to get the sense that this isn't your typical first-person action game. Unfortunately, once the action starts, Vietcong 2 eschews the talking and exploring part of the storyline to transition in to a fairly straightforward shooter where you and your squad must battle the Vietcong level after level. The US campaign actually has a nice twist about midway through that serves as the introduction to the VC campaign. Though in the end, it's something of a disappointment. The VC campaign lets you play as a Vietcong guerilla that joins up with the insurgents after your village is destroyed by South Vietnamese soldiers. However, it's so short it can't really be considered a campaign. All it covers is your journey from your village to the city of Hue. And once you arrive, the VC campaign is over.
It takes a while to get used to Vietcong 2's gameplay, especially if you didn't play the original game. If you're a first-person shooter veteran, then you're used to running around in the open, blasting guys and then picking up health packs before repeating the process again. That's something you can't do in Vietcong 2. While there are health packs to be found, Vietcong 2 is also a game where you must use cover at all times if you want to survive, because the combat can be downright brutal. In many ways, Vietcong 2 is sort of a cross between a Call of Duty-style run-and-gun shooter and a more realistic tactical shooter. Thankfully, the game gives you the ability to "peek" over or around whatever cover you're huddling behind when you fire your rifle to get a good sense of what real combat is like. The enemy soldiers aren't too smart about shifting around, but they do take advantage of cover themselves, and they'll peek out to fire potshots at you--unless they're being suppressed. Your own teammates are a mixed bag in terms of intelligence, as they're sometimes good about getting behind cover and laying down covering fire, but they also do crazy things, like rushing forward into the open or constantly getting in your line of fire. They can also perform some cool moves that really make you feel like you're in a battle, such as roll for cover or leap over obstacles. Unfortunately, you can't execute these moves yourself.
Both campaigns don't actually have that many levels, so this is generally a "short" game by that standard. However, just because there aren't a lot of levels doesn't mean that you won't spend a lot of time trying to get through them, because this can be a brutally tough experience. Thanks to the "realistic" combat, the smallest mistake can get you killed in a heartbeat, which means you have to go back to the last checkpoint or save point. And you only get a limited number of quick saves, depending on the difficulty level, so you have to parcel them out carefully. Otherwise you'll have to redo long sequences over and over until you get them right. Even then, though, you'll be hard-pressed to find 10 hours of gameplay in the single-player campaign. The multiplayer suite isn't much stronger. Vietcong 2 features the standard multiplayer modes, such as deathmatch and team deathmatch, but the gameplay is fairly generic, and the levels are fairly basic. There is a cooperative mode that will let you play alongside other players against the computer, at least.
Vietcong 2 is the next installment in the Vietcong franchise, set against the background of the 1968 Tet Offensive during the Vietnam War. Brought to life through a gritty story written by well-known authors, and compiled from first-hand accounts of Special Forces and Infantry servicemen stationed in Hue during the assault. Based on these historical accounts, the player will take the role of a U.S. Captain tasked with escorting a war reporter covering the traditional New Year (Tet) festivities during a ceasefire. Follow the progress of the infamous Tet Offensive from joyous New Year celebrations in the U.S. compound, through bloody conflict across 14 distinct locations, to the final push to reclaim the Imperial Palace and the city of Hue.
Features:
• Battles based on real events taking place in the ancient city of Hue.
• Drivable vehicles in multiplayer mode.
• Gritty, street-by-street, urban combat.
• Each mission flows seamlessly into the next, without passing through a menu system.
• New and updated character classes for MP.
• A single player campaign for each side, US and Vietcong.
• Realistic team battles in the multiplayer mode with up to 64 players.• Co-op Missions for up to eight players against AI.
• 50+ authentic weapons.
• Immersive and atmospheric gameplay.

Brain Lara International Cricket 2007

The ball’s hurtling towards you at 95mph, hit it for six and you’re a hero, miss it and you’re history… In Brian Lara International Cricket your every move is captured and analysed using innovative television presentation techniques.
I love cricket. I have played it since I was a small boy. My set of pads was way too big and my batting gloves made it hard to hold onto the bat. I watch it on TV whenever I get the chance, and I will see it live at my beloved MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground). I have even played a wide range of cricket games on PC. Some of them have been decent, some just plain awful. But recently, there seems to have been some improvement in cricket games, and Ricky Ponting International Cricket 2007 (aka Brian Lara International Cricket 2007) looks to be in the latter category.
From the moment the game is installed, Ricky Ponting puts the gamer in Calypso mode. The reason for this is that Ricky Ponting has been officially licensed by the ICC and includes the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007, based in the West Indies, as part of the game. The game begins with Rastafarian tunes blaring and immediately the game is livened up with the Caribbean flair. You could just imagine yourself sipping some of the regions finest rum while listening to the melodies. But there are more important things to do...
With the ICC Cricket World Cup currently in progress in the Caribbean, what could be better than winning the coveted trophy yourself? Well, if that?s not enough there is the Champions Trophy to win, as well as numerous other tournaments including Test tournaments, Twenty20 championships and custom ODI games. And with all World Cup teams as well as your own custom teams available, there is enough variety to keep the cricket fan going for some time.
One of the greatest strengths of Ricky Ponting is the ease of which anyone can just start to play a game. The batting and bowling both are very instinctive and have improved greatly from past cricket games. One of the nice little touches, though, is in the loading screens. They contain some cricketing terms that may not be familiar to gamers of non-cricketing backgrounds and gives definitions for such strange terms as Googly, Duck, Sticky Wicket and Leg Bye. This idea may only be minor, but it does give the gamer something to read whilst the game is loading and is interesting to boot.
There have been a number of new features added that make batting just that much more realistic and indeed more fun. Batting seems to have been made easier by the number of strokes available. Playing a shot is simply a matter of selecting the desired shot as well as the placement of the scoring stroke. By looking at the small radar in the bottom corner of the screen, the field placements can be seen, and suitable shots can be played. If the confidence is up, and the fielders are close in, it is possible to just hit over the top with relative assurance that you won?t get caught
Confidence is one the great new features of the game. Batsmen now have a confidence meter, which improves as their stay at the crease continues. Once the batting meter gets high enough, it makes it easier for batsmen to pull off the big shots. Also, having a high confidence meter enables the batsman to dance down the pitch to loft the bowler back over his head. The confidence meter is a great concept, as it means the batsman must play himself in. But once you are in, hitting the big shot feels great. Watching the replay as the ball sails out of the playing arena and the crowd stand in appreciation of the marvellous strike is a thrill. But be warned, get it wrong and your batsman could be wincing in pain as the ball hits him in the, um... well, you know where. Hopefully he was wearing a protective box.
Running between wickets is also straightforward. Once the ball has been hit, selecting the run button gets the batsmen running between the wickets. Pressing again gets them going for another run. A small inset box is displayed in the top-left corner of the screen, so you can see their progress. If you think you?ve made a mistake going for that sneaky single, you can always change your mind. If your batsman looks to be in trouble he will dive for the line in an attempt to make it back into his crease. Inevitably though, run-outs do occur. If it is close, the umpire will refer his decision to the third umpire and a decision will be given.
Its a great Game. When i played this game it is pretty good than 2005 but it still requires plenty of updates(especially AI part).I liked hitting plenty of sixes & four's but i always on highest difficulty level Of AI's, still it is so easy to defeat them.Multi-player was like okay, but custom players should be available in Multi-player & Single player World Cup modes, etc.Plenty of improvements in Batting & Bowling has been done.Fielding was kind of same like 2005 nothing much different. But Its great Game though with some improvements.I still like BLIC 2007.I hope next game will be more realistic espcially AI's part.

SWAT 4 full iSO

^Swat 4^
The newest iteration of the series is the best one yet, offering an intelligent and flexible interface, a highly replayable campaign, and multiplayer modes that include cooperative play.
The original SWAT game, released in 1995, was Daryl F. Gates' Police Quest: SWAT. Named after the former Los Angeles Police Chief who formed the world's first SWAT team, the original SWAT and its sequel were actually strategy games. It wasn't until SWAT 3: Close Quarters Battle was released in 1999 that the series transitioned into the first-person-shooter genre. Throughout the years, each SWAT game has attempted to simulate what it's like to lead the world's most highly skilled and trained police officers into dangerous confrontations. It's been more than five years since the last SWAT, and the newest iteration of the series is the best one yet, offering an intelligent and flexible interface, a varied and highly replayable campaign, as well as multiplayer modes that include cooperative play.
As with the real-life SWAT teams, your job as an element commander in SWAT 4 is to take your five-man team into dangerous situations and defuse them. These situations range from a botched jewelry heist to high-risk arrest warrants to a raid on an illegal casino. In almost every mission, there are innocent civilians mixed in with the bad guys. Those of you who are Rainbow Six and Counter-Strike veterans will need to cool it on your itchy trigger fingers. Even when you do run into armed criminals, you don't have carte blanche to shoot them immediately. You have to follow the same strict rules of engagement as a real police officer and do whatever you can to subdue and arrest suspects without lethal force. Your guns are meant to be a last resort and should only be used if an armed suspect is an immediate threat to your team or civilians. This is the primary detail that separates the SWAT games from the military-style action games. The rules of engagement add a good deal of difficulty to the game, and SWAT 4 pulls this off well. At the end of each mission you're graded on how well you did, and more points are awarded for arresting as opposed to killing suspects. You are assessed big point penalties for improper use of force, and for the most part, these penalties are levied fairly and intuitively.
The 14-mission campaign isn't linked in any way. There's no overarching storyline that connects them all, so the campaign plays out just like a series of stand-alone missions. It starts you off with a training level that does a good job of acquainting you with the basics of using your weapons and commanding your teams. It's here that you're introduced to the game's interface. Your four subordinates are divided into a pair of two-man groups: red and blue. You can issue orders to the entire element or to each pair separately. Switching between the groups is done by tapping a key. The commands you give are done in a context-sensitive manner and are based on what your crosshair is pointing at. Point at a door and hold down the right mouse button, and you're able to access a menu that gives you different options, such as "Open and Clear," which orders your men to open the door and enter, or "Open, Bang, and Clear," which will order your men to open the door, toss in a flashbang grenade, and then run into the room to clear it of threats. Point your crosshair at a civilian and you can order your men to zip cuff him or her for safety. Aim at a locked door and you can order your men to pick the lock or blow it open with a charge or breaching shotgun.
The context-sensitive interface extends to a multipurpose use button as well. Point it at a suspect or hostage, and the use button will cause you to yell at the person to put his hands up and surrender. You'll be doing this a lot in SWAT 4, as you attempt to get suspects to respect your authority before shooting them. Point your cursor at a dropped weapon and you can pick it up to secure it. Aim at a cuffed criminal or civilian and your use key will radio a status report into command.
There are also interface options that allow you to remotely command one of your squad elements. For example, you can order red team to stack up at a door, and then leave them there while you take blue team around the corner to a second door (which leads into the same room). Even though you're out of visual range of red team, you can bring up a picture-in-picture window of what red team is seeing, and through that window you can order them to enter the door they're standing in front of. This is a neat option that allows you to simultaneously enter a room that has two doors. During a given mission there are also picture-in-picture windows you can open that give you a view of what external snipers are seeing, and you can even control your snipers via those windows.
It seems like a lot to take in, and certainly it takes a few mission runs before you become used to all the options available to you. But once you've gotten a few missions under your belt, ordering your squad elements and moving along with them becomes second nature. The structure of the campaign seems to mimic this standard learning curve, as the first few missions are rather simple and easy, but the difficulty ramps up considerably in the later missions, where you'll find complicated building architecture and numerous heavily armed suspects.
